Battery-included combo kits are usually the headline tool deals on Amazon. Last year, DEWALT, Makita, Milwaukee and CRAFTSMAN 2-tool kits were all marked down. Milwaukee's cuts tend to be smaller than DEWALT's.

Camping lights, headlamps & coolers
Discounts here are more hit-and-miss than in tools and tech. Watch lanterns and headlamps for smaller markdowns, and check cooler colors one by one because sale prices often apply only to some colors.

How to tell a real deal
- Check the price history. A "list price" with a big strikethrough isn't proof of a discount. Compare it with the price over the last few months.
- Match the exact model. Holiday listings sometimes swap in bundles, older versions or tool-only kits with no battery. Check the model number on the product page.
- Lightning deals sell out. Short-run deals can end or sell out within hours. If it's on your list and the price is right, don't wait.
- Cyber Monday isn't just a repeat. Some Black Friday deals carry over and new ones appear, especially in tech.
- Buy for the platform you already own. A bare tool for batteries you already have can beat a "bigger" kit for a new system.
